The aim of the scholarship programme offered by The Romanian Cultural Institute is to train a new generation of translators of Romanian literature from a wide spectrum of foreign language backgrounds, as well as to establish closer links with professional translators who have already had their work published abroad. 

In order to achieve this, the selected candidates have the opportunity to spend a period of time in Romania in order to maintain direct contact with the Romanian literary and cultural milieu.

Each year 7 scholarships of between one to two months (at the candidate’s discretion) are offered.

Scholarship value: €1,500 for one month or €2,500 for two months
